The 2020 Masters Tournament will go ahead but sadly it will be held without spectators. The tournament held by Augusta National Golf Club (ANGC) will now be scheduled for the 9th to the 15th of November 2020. ANGC announced the postponement of the tournament in March of this year after the pandemic gripped the world but the news not to allow patrons was announced in August 2020.

Every year, we at Mac Sports look forward to taking our clients to the Masters Tournament. While the news to not allow spectators didn’t come as a surprise to us with what is currently happening in the world, it’s with a heavy heart that we won’t be able to take our faithful customers to one of the world’s most famous golf tournaments this year.

But fear not! Our Masters packages will be returning for 2021 to satisfy all those desperate to get back out there and watch the tournament’s winner try on the famed green jacket. For now, however, we’ll have to settle in from the comfort of our homes and watch the 2019 winner Tiger Woods attempt to defend his title!

We will miss not going to the Masters this year, as it is one of our favourite events here at Mac Sports. It saddens us that we won’t be able to give our guests an unforgettable experience but the decision to not permit spectators this year is a direct result of COVID-19 and the safety risks that come with it.

Augusta Club and tournament chairman Fred Ridley said, “Since our initial announcement to postpone the 2020 Masters, we have remained committed to a rescheduled Tournament in November while continually examining how best to host a global sporting event amid this pandemic”. He continued, “As we have considered the issues facing us, the health and safety of everyone associated with the Masters have always been our first and most important priority.”

According to the Augusta Club, if you’re lucky enough to have a 2020 ticket, you will be guaranteed the same tickets for the 2021 Masters. The club said it will communicate with all ticket holders and 2021 ticket applicants in September.

If you’re ticketless, however, and are looking to experience the Augusta course’s beauty, its unique history, and gorgeous layout firsthand, the 2021 tournament will come around faster than you think! Mac Sports are the experts in organising and providing you with an unforgettable Masters experience, so we suggest you move quickly once the 2021 tournament is confirmed to secure your spot, as availability is very limited. Keep up to date on our website or on our blog for any future golf packages with us and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions, we’ll be happy to hear from you!
